Direct Primary Care is a membership-based primary care model where patients pay a monthly fee directly to the practice for primary care services. By working outside traditional insurance billing for routine care, Family Medicine of Pooler can focus more directly on the doctor-patient relationship, access, and personalized care.
No. Although both models may use membership fees and smaller patient panels, concierge practices generally charge much higher membership fees and may still charge retail prices for medical services. Direct Primary Care uses lower membership fees with many primary care services included.
Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. It is designed to cover routine and ongoing primary care through a direct membership relationship with the practice. Patients may still choose to maintain insurance for major medical expenses, hospital care, emergencies, or services outside the DPC practice.
Family Medicine of Pooler offers age-based membership options for children, young adults, middle-aged adults, and seniors. Children ages 0–19 are offered a membership option when enrolled with a parent.
